HOPE ON THE HILL is a partnership between REACH and LLC (Lakeridge Lutheran Church). In late 2021, REACH relocated the Center of Hope family services to the church. LLC has been a neighbor in the West Hill community since 1945, and has shared its space as a community resource over the years. REACH, a Renton-area community-based organization, provides shelter and navigation services for families transitioning into permanent housing. Through this partnership REACH and LLC will enhance their work within the community and further their missions in serving South King County.

REACH works with the community to end homelessness and hunger in South King County. In alignment, LLC is committed to empowering the gifts of the community to care for each other and be of service to people. Both organizations prioritize community-based solutions.

With this new collaboration, we have the opportunity to create beautiful and dignified space within LLC for REACH families and for community use. With input from stakeholders, we will prioritize making this a community landmark that reflects the dignity and values of all partners and neighbors.

The Center of Hope will continue to be a resource to Renton and to South King County and will become a piece of LLC’s network of partnerships. The local community can expect LLC to continue to provide space for worship, daycare, short-term shelters, community groups and other new opportunities

Funding for renovations has been secured by REACH and LLC. REACH has secured funding for operational costs and is working to ensure sustainability. Both parties have committed to include real rent to the Duwamish People as part of this partnership.

REACH and LLC are working with, J Jensen Enterprises, the local contractor who designed and built the Center of Hope’s original space within Renton City Hall. Renovations at LLC will include dignified sleeping spaces, showers, laundry, and counseling services space, and enhanced space for congregational and partner ministries use.

REACH and LLC have partnered with King County to plan Center of Hope services at LLC.
|
REACH, in partnership with King County, is experienced in developing shelter space to protect residents and the community from the spread of COVID-19. REACH has been invited to apply for King County Shelter Fortification Funding to support the health of our community.
