The Welcome Home Project allows families who have the keys to their new place to acquire house hold needs through raised funds. Our goal is to help make this new living space into a home as well as ensure the dignity of families. Whether you are an individual, family, church or group, you can sign up to support a family moving into their new place.

How it works
- Step 1. A family will be nominated when they have been approved to move into a housing program within 3-6 weeks.
- Step 2. The family is offered an opportunity to opt into the program. Their identity will remain anonymous because we value their privacy and their dignity.
- Step 3. The sponsoring group receives an anonymous “impact story” with a description of the family size and ages of children and any relevant notable circumstances that led to homelessness. Sponsors begin fundraising efforts with a target of $500 to provide the family with a Welcome Home shopping trip. Funds raised in excess of $500 will go into the REACH diversion fund which is used to help folks on the verge of becoming homeless.
- Step 4. The family goes on a shopping trip-they know best what they need and what will work for their family. Their lists often includes items such as fresh linens and towels, small appliances, cutlery, and other small expenses many people take for granted. It's very empowering for our clients to make their own choices. Our donation coordinator goes along to cover the expenses up to $500. She takes photos of the full shopping carts to share with the sponsors. Take a look below at the overflowing carts for our second Welcome Home family!
